Every year the JARS group sponsors a hamfest. JARSFEST is held on the third Sunday in November in Benson, NC. Most meetings are held on the third Thursday of every month currently at Grandson’s Buffett in Smithfield, NC.
Special meetings are held three times a year away from our regular meeting location. The special meetings are announced on our Rag-Chew net and on this website. In May we schedule a JARS Presidential Picnic..
The JARS members have supported the Amateur Radio Emergency Services by volunteering their services in almost every disaster that has hit the State of North Carolina since 1975. Feel free to review our constitution and bylaws.
Rather directly or indirectly involved in the actual disaster JARS members have donated time and use of their personal equipment to the community by providing badly needed communications between the affected areas and Emergency Operations Center. The diversity of their members allows them to operate from the home, car or the area of need.
